Our Legacy
After 45 years in business, I have made the decision to retire and close Cogswell Video Services.
For nearly half a century, I have had the privilege of working as a Video Engineer in the motion picture business. What began as a career became a lifelong passion, a family journey, and a business built on hard work, relationships, and trust.
Cogswell Video Services would not have become what it was without my family.
I especially want to recognize my brother Steve, with whom I started the company. We built it from the ground up, sharing the excitement, challenges, and long hours of those early years. I will always be grateful we took that journey together.
I owe an enormous debt of gratitude to my father, Ronald, our Chief Engineer, whose knowledge, experience, and technical expertise helped establish the foundation of Cogswell Video. He taught us the importance of taking pride in our work and standing behind what we delivered.
To my brother Ronnie, thank you for your support, guidance, and encouragement throughout the years. Your contribution to our family's journey will always be appreciated.
And to my wife Lisa, thank you for your years of dedication and for managing the day-to-day business operations that kept Cogswell Video running while I focused on production. Your hard work and commitment were essential to our success, and I could not have done it without you.
I am deeply grateful to all our clients who trusted Cogswell Video Services throughout the years. It has been an honor to contribute to so many productions and work alongside some of the most talented people in the motion picture industry. Your confidence and continued support made these 45 years possible.
A special thank-you to the many dedicated operators who worked with us over the years. Your knowledge, professionalism, and commitment were essential to our success. You represented Cogswell Video with pride, and many of you became friends as well as colleagues. I could not have done this without you.
Closing a business that has been such a significant part of my life is bittersweet. While I look forward to retirement and the next chapter, I will deeply miss the people, projects, challenges, and excitement of this industry.
Looking back, the true measure of Cogswell Video Services isn't the equipment we owned or the productions we worked on. It's the people: my family, our clients, our operators, our colleagues, and the friendships built along the way.
Cogswell Video Services was never just a business. It was a family endeavor, a career, and a very special chapter of my life.
